American eel. I am doing a study on a pond, this eel was caught in a pot as part of the study. I have caught a few others that have regurgitated plastic worms. The eels find the soft plastic worms laying on the bottom, lost by fisherman. Some specimens are saved for ageing, sex determination, parasite presence.

a bottomless pit.
Perfect! But don't hide it too well; some of the joyful humour is lost if he doesn't eventually find it himself. :)

In my previous house I had a nice wet bar in my den/trophy-room/man-cave, with a small number of swizzle sticks in a glass always in easy reach. They were carefully cleaned and bleached bear baculums. It was great fun to watch a guest use one. It was far more fun to watch the reaction when they found out what they were using.

Don't ask; you'l have google it...:)
Oh we know exactly what a baculum is...
