First post on MFK, my apologies if my question has already been answered.
The Ikea shelves are 1/4" thick tempered glass. The width is 13 7/8" and they offer them in lengths of 22.5", 28.5" and 34.5".
The tank I was thinking about would have 24" sides and a depth of 16", volume would be 103 gallons. By comparison, 36" sides would be 233 gallons.
So with a full plywood frame (bottom, top AND corners), would the 22.5" glass panel be strong enough? Would the 34.5" glass panel be strong enough?
Second question, is a tank with a plywood base and top frame feasible (corners are just silicone)?
