Hello all I am new to this and I have a question I have a 125 gallon tank with 12 Africans and I really like the flower horn but have heard bad stories anyone house these with other fish or do they need to be alone

Flowerhorns should be kept solo, as they can be quite nasty. Also, even if it wasn't, it's not best to house Americans with Africans due to social differences and differing dietary needs.

Yep, a flower horn would just about demolish any African you put with it. They can "sometimes" be kept with larger CA/SA cichlids, but even that is risky. It all depends on the attitude of the particular fish.

Flowerhorns are best kept solo. They can be kept in community but there tank mates must be able to hold there own like festae, midas, umbee ect
