So I just did a major water change and my Trimac started laying eggs. Her mate is a total tool, so I have to keep them divided - hopefully he can fertilize through the divider. Every time I let him in, they really go at it - eventually she starts to run and then he gets more aggressive and starts inflicting damage. He's about 6" and she's just a little less, so there is no where she can hide that he can't get to her. I'm trying to power feed him - will try again once he is a lot bigger and she can get away. Sorry for the drab colors - I have a thick coat of duckweed in this tank that turns everything green. I've got two kids that have never seen this before, so a great way to spend a Friday night - you can really see her tube, and she swims down to place on contact vs. dropping and letting them go wherever. Niiiice, hows the male reacting to her laying? Does he seem interested through the divider? What are your water temps? I never have much luck through the divider but many people do. Hopefully he gets the job done.

He's very interested - wants to get at her - I keep temp at 76/78 but did a 60% water change with cool water

Very nice .Trimacs are definitely on my short list. The CA wife beater thing can be very frustrating. Good luck.

Good luck, I hope he fertilize the eggs. Mine did the same awhile back. Got really aggressive. Here is a pick of him not being interested
