I need some advice. Im getting a tank by December and it will
7x3x3 or 7x3x2 dimension. How thick should the acrylic be? I'm asking because
I have a buddy of mine who will put em all together, but don't know
how thick the acrylic should be.

I have a 450 that's 8X3X 30" and it's 3/4 cell cast acrylic. Hope that helps

I have an 8X3X3 that is an 1'' think top and sides and 3/4'' thick bottom. I know that the taller the tank is, the thicker the acrylic should be, so the 3 ft tall example you have will need to be thicker than the 2 ft tall example.

I wouldn't go any less than 3/4.

Acrylic is supper strong but it bends and can distort the view. The thicker the better really. I have a 4' deep tank with 1" acrylic and it bends/bows out a bit. If I look straight at the tank everything looks fine but at the side or looking top down when feeding I can see the bowing.

Agreed. You would need to step up to 1" to take a solid stab at eliminating the bowing. If you follow the calculated thickness, you would be looking at 1.35".

What 240 is 30" tall?

^ agreed with Pharoah. I have a 30" tenecor tank with 1/2" as well. Annnnd it bows.... It's all about height, not length or width. I really wish my 300g was at least 3/4" thick.
