An old photo, Frontosa Haven V1.0
tank1.jpg

I'm doing some modifications on my Frontosa/Tanganyikan tank, so I figured I should take some photos before I took out all the rocks. The to do List:

-Slim down the Colony of 14 Moba Frontosa Cyphotilapia gibberosa by removing several males
-Remove the large sailfin pleco (Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps)
-replace the black background again with new bristol board-, which fadde and wrinkles quickly.
-Add support to the bowing bottom piece of glass (Drooped ~1/8")
-Remove the two Fluval 405's and replace with two FX5s (For a total of 4)
-Modify the four FX5s with output modification and internal
-Introduce more Tanganyikan Species (Possibly Trets, B.tricotis, Daffodil, Jumbo Cyps, Calvus, lelupi)
-Build a hood to hide the lights and tank top. Also, build some Moon Lights.

I don't know if this combination has been done before, it may not work, but either way, I'll post to let you know.

All the photos below are from my iPhone. The lighting is T5 36" 10K and Actinic. The phone seems to only pickup the blue light.

Thanks. I stare it it for hours per day/night. Maybe even days per week.

I'm in no rush to sell it really, but if I get the right offer it will go, and I'll start a 300 gallon reef after I move. But with the economic record low, it's not the right time to wait on good offers.

they look sooo nice!! how big is the tank?
The tank is 220 Gallons. 72x24x30.

Some more photos. They aren't showing nice colour because of all the changes I've been making in and out of the tank so much. But I think you can get an idea of why people like Frontosa so much.

A few more.

I put in about 21 Golden Zebra Danios a couple nights ago in attempt to get the Frontosa used to having fish in their tank. Obviously they are large piscavores, but we may yet convince them to share their tank with the Africans I hope to later add. So far there are only about 19 fanios remaining. from wathing them carefully it seems that there is only one frontosa in particular that is doing the hunting.

Thanks man. I'm honoured. All the rocks are out but one, so that I can build support for the bottom piece of glass as it bowed under the weight of the tank contents. Once the rocks return I will start to add some Tangs.
