Looks good, Can you take some close pics of the corners. Im interested in the construction of it. Is that 3 pieces of glass? Wont size steele did they go with? I dont think it will be much work to get it looking new. Get an electric angle grinder with a stiff wire wheel and the rust wont stand a chance. Also Check out eastwood.com for paint like por15 and some others that prevent rust much better.

That plywood was replaced 8 months ago when he resealed the tank so it's pretty fresh. Plus it is 3/4" T111 board wrapped in fiberglas so it's pretty solid. I am just going to sand down to the bare fiberglass and epoxy over. I would say it is fine. I mean there is about 6 labor hours going to go into the tank to make it nice so it's pretty easy and the rust stands no chance. This tank will be looking mint in a week or two. With full filtration and heating. Again the tank will be plenty warm because it is going in my fernace room and the room usually stays between 72 and 76 and 900 watts of heating is plenty to raise the temp about 5 degrees from 72. Anyways I worked on it about 1/2 hour cleaned all the crap off and started grinding with a brissel head. I got some filters cycling and I am waiting on my 2260 to get in from DRSFOSTERSMITH.com then that will get cycling. So by the time I am done with the tank I will have full cycled filters. I seeded the media as well so it should cut the cycling time in half. I will get progress pics hopefully tomorrow after work. Voss I will let you know lol hey you can help me get it into my house lol. 4 people could barely carry it 100 feet lol.

no wonder he gave it away. good luck with doing all that, will def be worth it.
It's not much work at all really. I just started grinding and it's coming right off like dust, Plus I am DA sanding it with 180 grit so it will be nice and flat. The frame is going Gloss Black.

Hey got questions though I want to Epoxy the back with black epoxy but all I found was Drylock masonary sealant. Is that OK to use? I found Appliance Epoxy for refrigerators but I don't know what one to use so can anyone clue me in?
