getting a shark need info

Those would be bamboo sharks which are a more common marine shark to keep. I would not be surprised at all if thats what you ordered. You will need a bigger tank to keep them in they get to be about 40 inches long. You should definitely try to find out the name as I believe in that thread you showed there were a couple of different types mentioned and shown. Wild caught doesn't mean it was caught near you. So best guess its a bamboo but if I were you I would ask the people you ordered it from for its scientific name.
 
Yeah - that striped shark is a Brown Banded Bamboo.

Is it possible that the shark is coming from eastern Australia.

Given your descriptions - basically like a Brown banded Bamboo, Gray in color with darker gray bands, and cooler water species than the bamboos.

It kind of sounds like either a Blind Shark (Brachaelurus waddi), or a Blue-gray Carpet Shark(Heteroscyllium colcloughi), - both of which are found in eastern Australia(Queensland & New South Wales).

Both species tend to prefer water temps about 63-73F (17-23 C). Both tend to be gray with gray bands (at least in some stage of their developement).

The Blue-gray or Colclough's Carpet Shark grows to be about 30-32"(76-82 cm) long. While the Blind Shark grows to be about 47" (120 cm) long.
 
ok sweet well when i get it ill post piks selling my freshwaters first then setting up

once to big illl be giving it to someone with a 10.000 liter salt water pond , its cold water with natives so all good

if i was only to keep it a short amount of time would it be a bad idea to keep two?

i understand that means more waste but ill keep that under control, i did read somewhere something about some species of catsharks living in groups so thort it might prefer a mate
