Aww I liked the RTC... but it's your pond, so I guess whatever works for you.

Maybe one day when I grow up, if I somehow strike rich and find a huge place here in NYC and have the guts to try what you did, I'll show you how awesome RTCs are :D But then again, I don't have any or ever did so maybe they're dull like you said. They just look so fun and cool and lovable to me >.<

I got that RTC when it was barely 4" long. Grew to 18" in 6 or so months. In all that time, I saw him swim maybe 3x. Wasn't really any fun, not sure if that is the general RTC temperament or he was unique.

Besides, he was growing uncomfortably bigger than my Ray. Have a friend who is going to sell me his female 12" ray once he nurses him back to health, excited for that.

I'm quite a dog-person and am proudly anti-cat. I passionately detest their feline ways and am irritated by their arrogant demeanor, their lack of loyalty in general and of course, their awful, no retched smell.

Just suddenly realized the RTC is a CATfish. If it so much as sniffs the ray, I'm stabbing it with my kid's pencil--the dull unsharpened one.
LOL

Awesome set-up; its really come along

I would have done the same thing with the RTC. Lovin the albino ID's!! They look so good!

Quick question pare. I just rescued a 14 inch ID. He hasn't eaten since I got him. Going on 2 weeks now. Any tips on how I can get him to eat?

I just looked back at some of the earlier pages to review how long it took for my IDs to start eating, the other one ate 10 days after. Now, I need to stab it with my tongs to stop it from stealing shrimp from the ray.

I got my albino on the 14th, so it's about a week and a half now--hasn't eaten either, I'm like kung ayaw mo--wag mo! Tough love bro!:naughty: Assuming your water parameters are good. I really doubt IDs will starve to death, I'm sure it could go 1 month easy without eating and not having any health issues. But maybe you can try experimenting with different food, try either veggies or fish fillet if they're ignoring the pellets. Adding a powerhead to get some undercurrent going also helps calm them down.

It's good to hear that yours didn't eat for so long too pare. Eases my pain, but like you said "kung ayaw mo--wag mo!". I too give tough love and that how I got even my PBass too eat pellets right away. I will just wait. Thanks for the advise.

Oh yeah, your pond is very nice!!! Makes me want to do the same when I buy a bigger house. Great work!!!

First some updates:

30-31" Silver Aro doing fine after it jumped when I was acclimating the albino ID Shark.

Overstocked! Overstocked! :D

So, I saw this ad in our local "craiglist". The seller goes, he has a 30" and a 27" in a standard 100G

So I drove to his place and gave him my mountain bike in exchange for the pair--thinking I'm getting a pair of monsters to hang out with my 30 incher.

Turns out they were a 21" and a 24". Fisk keepers and their horrid guesstimates :irked:

It was a tough bagging, they were wild, jumping up and down like frogs in spite of the fact that we only had like 3-4" of water left.

The first one I bagged, rammed into the bag and tore it open, jumping out and landing on the floor. It wasn't a pretty site.

Check the below picture out, WHERE is the aro?

We got a wild one here!

The second one:

The 1st silver has perfect eyes, no drop eye, according to the owner, he used to have 1 drop eye but "cured" it using "salt". Am pretty impressed that his eyes are perfect.

The 2nd one has pretty bad DE on his right eye as can be seen in the picture.

nice set up and stock. love the ID shark and aros. being in the PI, are you going to put any asian aros in there?
Firstly, in principle, I really can't get myself to fork out serious cash for fish, doesn't seem right to me. Although I've gotten a Green and an RTG before in my noob stages of fish keeping, killed them both by feeding them bad food.

Secondly, I don't think I can stomach seeing such expensive fish tearing themselves up like so
