Keeping this post of mine, in mind:
http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=354570

What can be done (after my tank re-cycles... see above post about my main issue...) to help out this 6 or 7" long Bala of mine... He's had this pop eye issue for a few weeks now... Usually Maracin has worked for my Bala Sharks in the past when they've nicked themselves or what-not, but obviously w/ my tank outa wack from my Gar issue and it re-cycling, I don't believe medicating is wise...

Does anyone know if I can restart this dosage after I give the tank time to cycle & if so, how long should I wait b4 I begin medicating, what is recommended, and how long should I dose for this severity of popeye?

BTW... he got this on the 3 day move from the Midwest to the East coast back in July, beating himself up in the container he was in, this was long BEFORE my tank went outa balance... he acts fine, he can move his eyes fine and it doesn't seem to bother his vision or health otherwise... Heres a head-on and side shot of his eye...

Thanks in advance...

You talking typical aquarium salt?

Will this affect me trying to re-cycle/balance my previous tank issue? (Right now I'm trying to get a high nitrite issue under control...)

And what do you mean by heat? Upping the temp in the tank?...

Any other suggestions?...

Not table salt, raise the temp to 86F. It will go in a few days and this shouldn't afect your cycling I would think...

*edit* I just skimmed over it sorry for popeye I've
Had it once in my bala pond. All u have to do is up the temp to 86F that what I did and fed him very good nurtion foods, exept I had to put mine in a tank but that's another story

Na... can't use meds... I was using Maracin II then found out the issue w/ my high ammonia & nitrites... thank got I got the ammonia down quite fast w/ like an 85% water change done 2 days ago... Tanks still cycling... haven't fed since Monday, then did today a little at a time... so down to twice a week for 'em... my nitrites are still high tho and I'm using Stability & Prime as listed on the bottle...

BTW - the tanks been between 84-86 for a few weeks now & absolutely NO change in the Bala's eye...
