Here is a thread dedicated to my established 220 gallon Tanganyika Tank. I welcome any comments and suggestions.

Yeah, its a beast. I got it and the big one in my 120 at a place called the Reef in Indianapolis.

how much does it weigh?

i have nightmares that one day i am going to drop mine in the tank and break the glass.

Any big pieces like that and I have always put a bead or two of Silicone on the areas that will touch (bottom or back) , helps ease my mind in case of the worst.

I am not sure, but would estimate it at about 50-60 lbs. The Reef's scale only goes up to 30 lbs, so they only charged me 30 lbs for each rock. So I got at least 80 lbs of THR, in two big pieces, for $120!

I hear ya on dropping it. Its scary, especially as tall as that tank is.

Thanks Joe!

Thats a good idea on the silicone. This one is so big, that I pretty much have it angled in there so it can't move. I have a piece of base rock braced behind it as well.
