White head looking zit bumps on fins?

Well, whatever it is for sure, I just dropped in a dosage of Jungle's parasite buddies stuff over lunch. I have enough for a couple doses and I figure I might as well do it and see what happens. Lately my midas' scales are a little wierd lookin'. Like they are sticking out just a bit or he is getting lighter at least. Whatever is going on, I hope this treatment helps. Thanks for all your advice!

Did it work??

Nope..... In fact I think a couple other fish have a bump on their fins now too. My midas' scales are looking a little weird too, like maybe they are flaring out slightly or fading to white. So I guess I don't know if this is a bacterial/fungus thing, or parasite. I did two treatments of the parasite, but it all still remains. They are still eating well, and my texas/carpintis looks like he is going to breed with my texas hybrid anyday now, but it is still just odd, concerning, and a little weird.

Thanks Ponyo. Cute little movie too by the way. Those pics from in the link you left look bout exactly like what my fish have. Hopefully we can all figure this out.

Is it only on the fin between the rays...only on the rays...or both? I have some issues like this...white bump...not big...only on the rays of the fin and you can tell if it on the front or the back of the fin. Doesn't bother the fish...doesn't spread like wild fire but seems to very slowly. I have tried the jungle stuff and copper. I dont think its lymph (hope not) because its just pimple like and not big cauliflower growths.

I was thinking of using this stuff de-los http://www.fishyfarmacy.com/products.html#De-Los

or paracide-d
http://www.fishyfarmacy.com/products3.html#P

Or a wide spectrum shot in the dark with this stuff Parinox

Sounds about right! From what I remember, I believe the bumps are on and inbetween the rays. It isn't spreading quickly but like I said I am noticing a bump or two on other fish now.

I don't know about the copper stuff you mentioned NOLAGT. Again, I have tried jungle parasite for a couple doses and that didn't do it. I just picked up some jungle fungus/bacteria stuff. I hear/read on another thread that salt is good. I picked up some sea salt from walmart. I am guessing sea salt is safe? I also read somewhere that even solar/softener salt is okay to use. What all salts can a guy use that are safe? If softener salt works that seems to be the cheaper way to go.

The salt has to be non iodine table salt. I dont know about the other stuff...I wouldnt risk it if no one chimes in. My bumps on the fish are only on the rays not between them at all and not on the outer edges.

Well... I put in some jungle fungus/bacteria treatment. My aquarium is a nice shade of greenish blue. We'll see how this does. I bought some sea salt too. It says nonidodine on it. I will do some other research first before putting it in.

Dosing your tank randomly with different medications isn't the smartest thing to do(Parasites and other bacteria can grow immunities to the meds creating a super bug). I believe those are flukes(harmless to fish). My fish has had them but with clean water and a quality diet they went away. As for the salt, I hope you didn't get marine salt. API makes aquarium salt for freshwater and that's the kind you should be using. As for Iodine in the salt, theres not enough Iodine to do harm to your fish, but why take the chance.
