I just bought a 44 gallon bow front tank for my (:D cough cough:D) daughters room. I took some tuffa rock from my 55 gallon and put it in the 44 for bacteria and a ac70. The ph is 8.2, will convicts breed in this high of a p.h

the Ph will decrease...I did exactly the same thing for my 2 youngest boys, gave them a confirmed pair of convicts ( they were my first 30 something years ago..)...they love it, I love it...it got the guys surfing the net, not messaging with friendas, but searching the forums and whatever!!! Phantastic! Your daughter will love it!

If the water is wet... convicts will breed.

The adapt well to water conditions, the eggs could be effected by the high pH and not hatch, I do not know for sure though. I have breed cons sucessfully in 6.6pH and 7.6pH

Good luck
