This is the pond that I am going to be building in the near future I would like some comments on the design and some pointers on materials

I plan on using 10" blocks with rebar in them and use Quickrete Motor mix with Quickrete Masonry coating for waterproofing. I will pour a floor in the pond and mix in some rocks and stuff to make it look natural.

I need to think of a filter idea as well. the part where the pond is losing space is a doorway into a storage room where the filter (to be build) will be.

I will be using large peices of glass in the front so that you can see the fish from above and below. The pond is around 1500 gallons and I will need some advice on glass thinkness please.

Any comments and pointers will be greatly appreciated.

very nice but what is the leaft side deimension???

The LEFT side needs to be open like that so that I can get into a storage room. thats what it says in the description.

please check it out and give me some feed back.

how tall will it be? insualte as much as you can. then add a cover and use some large heaters. if is is 2f tall then i say 1/2 or 3/4 thick glass good luck.

It is going to be 4 feet tall. I was thinking of options to insulate the floor before I add concrete to it. not sure what I will do.

at 4 feet i pretty sure it is 1-1/14 but not 100% sure. i think insulating floor may save heat but just rember heat is less dense it it rases. so cover the top the best :).

yeah thats not going to happen its going to be an open top I can afford the heating. But how to insulate the floor? a layer of styrofoam under the concrete?

use 'pink panther" it should work great. make sure to insulate the sides realy well then. is it inside or out.
