bedroom fish tank head board w/55g tank

I snagged a 55g for $50 with the idea for my new birthday present, a tank head board in the bed room! (hay, a fish head )'> fish head board)

First the sales pitch to the wife. drawings and romancing the stand of how nice an 8 foot stand would look holding her alarm clock!
second, the cost... practically nothing. I will use the scrap wood from the redecoration project of our sons room.
third, we need to do our bedroom---get rid of of the sterile white walls.
SOLD!!!!!

4 coats of flat black paint on the back the tank.
bag of pool filter crushed quartz.
add water from the water changes from the other 8 tanks in the house.

Damn does that alarm clock look good!
I took the fluval 404 that was running a 36g tank, (long story.....found on different thread.) put in door on the left which is totally walled with acustic foam. It is dead quiet! Even better than I theorized in the sales pitch. You can't hear it even if you listen for it!

Right now the walls and the stand are just primer. next is the sides and hood. than paint. We are debating colors.
Right now the only fish in the tank are my wives favorites the geo and frontosa. (part of the sales pitch agreement)
