TLkmDN's Pond Fish Update pics 17.11.07 :)

The only way I know to reduce glare is to suspend a tarp or some kind of shade cloth. If you look at the first pic, your shadow eliminated the glare. A shade cloth etc will do the same.

yes my dream is to swim with my RTCs and handfeed them from the actual water...they always fight with each other during feeding time so i wonder if they wud bite the hand that feeds if they get overexcited....now i need an underwater cam...hmmmm
 
If you've ever seen video's of people 'nodling', they generally do not get injured. Noodling is were people stand in a river, and use thier fingers as a lure to grab catfish by the mouth and haul them out. Some consider it cruel, but I think it would be very exciting. So in theory, even if your RTC's did bite you, it probably wouldnt be intentional.

everyone sez that RTCs dont have teeth but my fish shop dude sez they have teeth like objects deep down in their throats....if ur hand wen deep down there ud definitely need surgery...is this tru?

That is true of most, if not all cichlids. If you've ever seen a cichlid thats just swallowed a huge wad of food, you'll notice that its throat will quiver as if its having a fit. All its doing is grinding up the food contents beyond the mouth. So cichlids grab the food, crush it up in the throat, then digest.
And just for the record, I dont think you'd let your hand slip all the way down into the cat's mouth. I'd still want to keep some rubber gloves handy when feeding them.
