under a bridge in fl
my 240g is custom made so i made some custom lid hold downs,or whatever you want to call them. :grinno:

i found these clips at ace hardware
"hard lil clips to find"
the receipt says there midget clips
i got 3 sizes but used the 1/8" ones, smallest they had.
they fit perfect on my 1/4" chrome rod.you can find chrome and aluminum rod anywhere.
the clips were 7 cents a piece :headbang2

i wanted the kind with a hole on each end but this is all i could find.
"they would have held more weight"

i tried the plastic wire staples and a few other things but they didnt hold.

clean the spot
glob silicone where you want it
push the clip in
smooth silicone over and around the hole end
slide your rod in and out to clean out the silicone while its wet
done
:D

heres pics of my test piece and on tank pics
the weights are not touching the ground trust me.lol
the weights are hanging from just one clip thats it.
first weight pic is 2 1/2 lbs
second weight pic is 5 lbs
the clip snapped off at 10 lbs
this should keep an aro in. :)

this looks much nicer then weights eh?
i had 50lbs of weights on top of my tank.
i had 5lbs on each corner, now theres like no weight.
and ya i havent cleaned off the weight stains.
:irked:

whatchathink?
:grinno:
