havent tested it yet but it should work good.lol

1" pipe
2 cut scrubbies
some a/c filter material
66gph pump
clothes hanger

still have to get the right fitting on the end also.
i just smashed it in for now.lol
im sure it will need a few tweaks before its done.
cord will be hard to hide but im not trying to enter a beauty contest.
might paint the pvc black,if i keep this idea.
you can make it any size for any tank.
i might make one of these for my 55g.
but use 2" pipe.could stuff alot of media in that one.
:)

i've seen this done before... and i've heard it works fairly well... i can see it actually being good for bio media... have a pump push water through it slowly....

well i got more ends.
im not sure i like it tho :irked:
with the 66gph pump,i guess the media is packed to tight and wasnt flowing much.
i beefed up the pump to a 190gph one and its better but i can tell its not flowing like it should. :irked:
also unrolled the scrubbies then repacked them, might help.lol
didnt want to step it up to 2" pipe.
not sure what i will do with it........lol

it's a mini bio-tower....

I've built them although I use the clear tubes that come with tank vac's as the main body so I can see whats going on inside.

I got a couple pieces of vaccuum tubing from building a bank. 4 1/4" round by 3" long. These would work great.

Un-pack it, better to have the flow. And if you use half a union at the filter end it's easier to clean.

very cool. think this could work hooked up to powerheads? I have two powerheads I need to re-purpose.
