ok so i had a leak in my sump
took it out to fix
all this just clicked in my head.lol
should i move the filter to the other side?
its on the left side making the return hose longer.
if i move it the return hose would be shorter making it work better right?
the overflow hose would be long but that would be ok right?
i could strap it to the top of the stand, underneath.
so should i do this?
i would have to modify a few things but if it would help then i might do it.

heres the bracing under the plywood.
theres a lil less on the "storage" side but i think it should hold.
and both sides are caulked to hold a lil water.

I know shorter return hose equates to greater GPH, but not sure if having a longer drain would take away from your water movement since it has longer to travel back to the sump. Can you move the overflow or is it hard plumbed?

the amount of return pressure is generated by the amount of pressure your intake creates a longer return line might bog things a little its a lot like a car exhaust

so your saying this would be a good idea to do?lol

just got the hose,17 bucks for 6 feet!!!:WHOA::WHOA:
i could have used pvc but would have had to figure out fittings to go from pvc to hose that big and didnt have time to do that.

im still trying to decide if i should do this, anyone else?lol

It might be worth moving it over to make the overflow hose shorter. When you increase the GPH on your overflow you have more flexibility on the return.
Keep in mind that the overflow is ultimately what dictates your overall flow rate.
