This weekend i have received a news that no MFKer should ever receive. See picture
I have finally decided to move my two arapaimas to outdoor 2400g aquarium from indoor 190g two weeks ago. The bigger one is populated by 2 alligator gars ... at least i hope they are gators (~24" each), 2 redtailed cats (~18" each) and 9" Oscar. Initially, i thought the risk was from gars ... how wrong i was. The attached photo is a tail of arapaima sticking out of RTC mouth ... while the other pics shows a worried Oscar (having said that Oscar has been around for awhile even before RTC)
Needless to say, the remaining arapaima was moved back inside - pending construction of a new outdoor aquarium (more info to come).
Lesson Learned? RTC can eat anything equal its own length!
PS: i wonder if Oscar will be eaten one of these days as RTC continues to grow
