Ahh the tropical north of Australia...good place to spend the next two weeks catching fish I reckon. Here are the results from yesterday and today's sessions. Has been raining a fair bit so the creeks are flowing a bit hard for netting but we still get it on.
One of three Butis butis

One of 8 Mouth Almighties

One of three purple spot gudgeons

Small Jungle perch and mouth almighty

Decent sized female snakehead gudgeon

Bigger female snakehead gudgeon 25cm

Big male snakehead gudgeon 32cm. Stressed colours on, had a bright orange belly when caught

Creek where the action was

Plenty of sooty grunter, splendida rainbows, pacific blueeyes and empire gudgeons being caught as well but they are common as mud around here so no photo's. More pics to come, up here till the 13th of Jan and planning on fishing most days.

Looking forward to more photos, we get pretty decent fish where I live now, but all of it is far from MFK standards <5cm

Awesome. Australia rocks. Aren't there freshies (Johnston's crocodiles) in those habitats as well?
Freshies are found west of the dividing range. On the coast in these creeks are the estuarine crocs which are the ones you have to watch out for. Just a matter of knowing where it's safe to get in the water.
