Ply tank build

The plans are to have two windows a front and side view. I have water proofed the basement and plan on finishing it after i have built the tank and make sure it holds water. Last thing i want is 300+gallons suddenly gushing all over ruining all walls and carpet i would of just put down
So far i have all the all the walls together just need to put them all together. I just decided i better build the stand and then put the walls together because its heavy in pieces.

Here is what i have so far. 01/09/10

yea its 8ft inside dimensions are roughly 94.5" X 33" X 27" (viewing window may be able to fill water level up higher. Tank was supposed to be 36" instead of 33 but had a measurement mix up so 33" will do. Could not see chuckin $35 for those two pieces of ply into trash. Works out to about 354 gallons

Ok got some more time to work on the DIY today. As you can see i had my little helper with me, and my brother lent a hand also. Got this much of the stand done. Would of got more but ran out of screws. So will get to do some more on it next weekend.
The stand should be more than well built to hold the weight i have figured up.

It looks like you have all the weight of the tank (water included) will be held up and dependent on the screws. I would, instead of screwing it on the side, but have the 2x4 frame on top.

It will some what depend on the screws. But not totally. The screws will mainly be givin support to the bottom of tank the 2X4 that runs from floor to tank should be supportive of all the weight. 16--2X4 works out to each one only having to hold 221lbs.
