Ok
just saw in lfs today,
ARCADIA - arowana tanning light. UVA 27%, UVB 6%
the pictures show only RED AROWANAS.
i have an RTG
will this make a difference with an RTG?
What will it do?
Also, the UVA and UVB, i believe UVB gets filtered when it hits glass, any use of this if it passes through glass?

Does it work?
wanting to know if i should fork out for it, it is a hefty price.
My rtg has a very shiny gold sheen, also has pure white substrate and the colours are very gold.

Thanks

I was just reading a thread on another forum about a guy selling tanning lights. He had lights for reds and golds. He was in Aus if I remember correctly. Let me see if I can find it.

Found it. Here it is. http://www.plecofanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?p=603403

Don't know if it will work for golds but might be worthe a try.

Just sharing my exprience.

You don't really need those tanning light for your RTG. A common extra bright household T8 FL cool white will do the trick. Just leave the light on 24/7 and the fish will start to develop more intense colouration. But of course, the genetic make up of the fish play a part as well. That's why some fish regardless been tanned but still the colour is not up to the mark.

Just sharing my example. This is my own collection of RTG been kept in black tank and with common household cool white T8/FL lights on 24/7 since day one for the past 7 months.;)
