i was planning on waiting until i had the tank done before i posted my pictures up on here but i couldnt wait (too excited) :headbang2... here is the box so far its 1 1/8 thick ply with screws every 2 inches and waterproof wood glue on the joints. inside measurements are 88x28t x30deep. i took pictures on my phone so i am hoping the quality is ok. let me know what you think

i built the viewing window border out of 4 separate pieces then doubled up with another sprip of wood (i was not wanting to pay another $40 for a full sheet that i would cut most of it out later) i hope it doesnt bite me in the butt in the long run.

Nice!

Two questions,

What sealant are you gonna use, and what is gonna be the stock?

ross yes the inside boards will hold the glass like a frame and act as further support for the front boards so the glass will overlap the boards a little over 2 inches which i have been told is overkill :) the zavlar is what i will seal it with and yes ross i will admit you are a genius i am going to seal the glass in your way. witch is the best way i have seen or heard of so far, im still waiting for a picture from you so i know what your talking about for sure... stocking will be my colony of wild caught geo. dicrozoster 2 fronts that i have in my 150 now and im trying to find a couple rays :)

going to get some fiberglass today and lots of 4x4 and 2x4 so i can have it on a stand and have the front piece ready to stick to the glass before the LR gets here. anyone have any good ideas or pictures of how to make the over flow boxes? im planning on drilling two 2inch holes for the over flow and two 3/4 for the return lines. there is no need to go bigger is there?

Working fast bradda.... a hell of a lot faster than my build. How do you have your face frame fastened to each other? I would recommend a mortise and tenon with some pocket screws to hold it all or biskets with pocket screws. Make sure you have lots of glue in that joint.
