who has the largest florida gar?

I recently picked up 2 florida gar from John and really like them a lot. They seem to be growing rather quickly and I was wondering how large they will get in captivity. Does anyone have a 2' plus florida gar in their home aquarium? List your largest FL gar and post up a pic if you can.

nice gars! ive never seen a f gar reach over 19" in person. so it is possible.
 
a yoy never seen at 2 ft. i know iv got a 17"er and some others have some floridas slightly larger

hey, dont mean to derail this thread, but figured it was a good opportunity to post that Winchester Pet and Aquarium has a 2ft+ gator gar that someone brought in. Needs rehomed, and I believe you should take on this responsibility so I can come see it.

Dude in his big tank with that drip system fish grow like crazy. ;)
 
I vouch for you kevin 750 gallons those gars will reach 24", you have the experience and stock to do it. That particular varient of Florida gar I see all the time in the wild 30"+, so with good care and diet I know it can be done in your tank ;) Thanks for posting.
 
u might got a huge tank, but ill still see u in a few years. THe experts can chime in here , but i am unaware of anyone having a YOY florida at 24"
 
I've never heard of a captive YOY Florida getting over 20" but I don't doubt it can be done, just rarely.

I should be acquiring an 18" FL soon, maybe I can squeeze a couple more inches out of it in the 500.
