ok i need to buy a heater for my pond. not a de-icer but one that will keep the water temp somewhat warm. its a 400 gallon concrete stock tank :/ which will be very hard to heat becouse its above ground. ive seen pond de icers but they only work when the water temp gets down in the low thirties or so.. any help greatly apprecieted

Aquaticeco.com has several.

I have a 600g tropical pond- for heat, the 1st thing was to put down the styrofoam thats used to wrap the outside of houses- and since yours is above ground, maybe you can wrap it? then I have 3x 300w heaters in the filter, and a waist high greenhouse, made of pvc and a clear plastic tarp- the 1st night of the greenhouse had the temperature up 10*, without adjusting the heaters at all-
heres a link to one of the older threads about the pond

This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to try the greenhouse technique. The temps here in the winter don't get much lower than 50, maybe a few nights where it drops to 40 or so. I bet the greenhouse would work perfectly.
