There are many peacock bass species, they belong to the cichla genus. To the best of my knowledge there are about 7 different species, yours looks like Cichla temensis but I'm not 100% on that. Pbass are not my specialty.midnight;472028; said:i caught it a few years back in miami.just curious

Its a cichla ocellaris. There are many different kinds in south america, but the florida butterfly peacock is an ocellaris.
There is actually 1 private lake in FL. with temensis stocked in it but I believe the owner shoots first and asks questions later
. Temensis where stocked in the river system at the same time the ocels where. The ocels flourished but for some reason the tems died off.
