Sucks!, I had a power outage the entire day two days ago with all my arowanas finding it difficult to breathe, thats when I decided to go to my LFS and buy an Rechargeable battery operated aeriator (sp?). Cost a bit but hell, Its worth! You should really consider getting one if you're getting back to fish keeping

Sorry for your loss sad to see all fishes gone.Next time buy a AC/DC air pump which work on battery when there is a power failure.
All my aquarium in my house is back up with a AC/DC air pump i have seen lots of people fishes died due to power failure or other accident in house like some member in the family or maid off the pump to use the socket forget to plug it back.

Sorry for your loss. HOw bad did your wife kick your butt for putting fish on the table? Mine would've killed me!
