I have been talking, but did a bad job posting pictures.

Here is a picture blog of the stand building process my brother and I went through to get this new 55g sump onto my 125g.

Enjoy: http://www.thebruler.com/2010/12/aquarium-stand.html
Looks like a pretty nice one. How about you make my an oak or maple one next! :grinno:

yeah, this has been a pretty fun project. I am definately going to make more, our next one will be sweet.

Maple would be my choice. I think its prettier (and lighter to work with) than oak.

How big a stand? We can build one when I come home for Christmas.

Well since you are in such a giving mood....a 210...

Ha I was kidding. I don't care how nice and free it looks, no way I am tearing my tank down to put in a better looking stand. Guess I will need new living quarters so I have space for a 3rd tank....

I do agree, Maple definitely looks nice. Tank looks very well done.

Looking good

I love working with solid wood like that.

I'm planning a 55 gallon set-up for some time in the new year. After reading throught that, I can hardley wait to start building the stand

Looking forward to seeing the up-dates

Thanks guys, subscribe to my brothers blog! (That was the main point of this thread actually, to get him some more views. :D)

Anyways...yes, we should have some more updates over the christmas break period.

And I figured you would enjoy it cliff, nothing like reading about others projects to make you want to gear up and do some building of your own. My brother and I have been getting handier as the fish projects have been getting bigger.

Although I started with a 0 rating in handiness, and my brother's considerably higher, I would like to say that after doing the finishing touches on our over 150g filtration system this summer I am somewhat handy. :D

Agreed Jimbo. Although its not quite up and running yet. We dont have a pump, or baffles...and the stand needs to be sealed still.

After that it is just a matter of moving everything over...which will take a couple hours however ha.
