I finally got my titanium heaters in and I finally was able to give my rescues more room. It was an all night ordeal between moving the koi and goldfish from that tank to a holding tank and the big fish to the stock tank. It took me about 12 total hours to move water, fish, and equipment. I had to heat the water in the stock tank which took a good amount of time. I slept for 3 hours in the middle after getting frustrated because I couldn't get my big pump primed to run my filter. I threw aerators in the tanks and took a nap at 3:30 in the morning. lol Was finally done at 11:30 this morning.
I took pictures of fish and an underwater video in the new tank. The red oscar in the tank is a recent rescue fish. He had a terrible life in a 20 gallon when I got him. You can see his face all bashed in. He is very friendly and eats pellets fine though.
My 4,000 gallon tank build is moving along but next few months I should have it up and running. Will post pics of entire build when it is completed and has fish in it. Also I am about to start on my koi pond in my backyard so I will have two projects going on at once. The pond with features and stream will come out close to 20,000 gallons so Im excited about that. I have a 1,000 above ground pool I am considering using for some of my fish but I do not have a way to filter it, and I wouldn't have any room left in the garage. lol
On a side note one of my little brothers friends (he is 12) came over to the house today and when he saw all the fish in the garage he looked at me and said "why?" What was funny is I didn't have an answer for him. All I could muster out in response was "why not?" lol It made me realize that I just might be insane.
