My Blood Parrot was all orange and now he's getting black spots on the top of his body and fins? Is this a sign of strees or disease? Sorry for the bad quality pics... 20151227_165121-1.jpg 20151227_165041-1.jpg

It's usually a sign of stress, that clear up once conditions are rectified; the main things to check are: water parameters, bullying, and whether your parrot has adequate shelter and security. I say the last one, as young BP's very much appreciate hidey holes to feel safe

Good to know its not a disease. My Jack Dempsey chases everyone so that's probably what's causing it then. Thanks.

Yeah convict360 is spot on. Young BP's get these stress markings when something is not right but strangely this stops as they grow older.

IMO, I think it's part of the growing process. I've had many faders (flowerhorns, Midas, Red Devils, blood parrots, KKP, and bred my own faders) and these markings come and go. I've kept some of these guys solo and these dark markings still appear without anything to stress them out.

Who said those are stress? Faders display this and are normal. I cannot stress that enough lmaooo

Look at pictures of blood parrots all of most fade at that age I've had Red Devils black spots are normal and can last for a while.

I did, as that's what I've experienced in the past.

I've found it rare for fish to fade, unfade, then fade again as seems to be suggested...
