They do grow very slow and 10" is very large for an aquarium raised fish.

Jon Rare said that he saw a 16"er one time, and I know that some public aquariums have large ones, around 14"... and they do grow SLOWLY.

confused, lost, and lonely
I had some that went from 3 1/2 " to 5" in 3 years, that is very fast for clown loaches.

Very very slow growers, I found that my monsters would outgrow them and then one day become lunch. If you do get them, they do really well in schools or packs.

I recently traded in my pink kisser - harrassing the other fish - for three clown loaches. One of my loaches died recently, but the other two are a blast to watch. I did hear that they grow slowly...so, I hope to have them for a long time to come.

The growth rate is quite slow....but if enough food and in big tank...it will help to speed up the growth....
