Hello,

I’m not new to cichlids- but am new to Africans. I purchased a used 180gal tank several days ago, and it came with 13 African Cichlids.

Can anyone help me identify these guys? Thanks!

My pic is from the genus Nimbochromis..
A young N livinngstoni to compare in the 1st pic

The one in front is a female or immature, a male maturing (turning blue) in the background.
Below 2 mature males.

There are another 4 species in the genus though to compare.

Pretty close I think. I would say #8 is closer to a aulonocara/fryeri mix. #9 is some kind of peacock, probably not pure.

Here is my stab at it:

1. Livingstoni

2. Bumblebee cichlid

3. Blue Dolphin or some sort of larger hap

4. Maingano or Auratus cichlid

5. Strawberry peacock

6. Yellow Lab

7. OB peacock

8 and 9. Looks like another hap, or a peacock. Looks like a male and a female. So maybe a pair?

10. Blue dolphin or large hap.
