I got a new baby retic a few days ago its nice and fat and in good shape when I put it in my tank I did not notice till the next day when I got home from work one of fish thought his tail was a chew toy so the rays tail is pretty beaten up and all he does is sit on the bottom and won't eat is there any thing I can do. oh I took the other fish out to reduce stress

Raise the temperature to 84 - 86 degrees ove the next day or so.

Add some salt to help prevent fungal infection (standard aquarium salt) and help with gill function.

Offer him/her plenty of live blackworms.

Don't put whatever bit him back in the tank.

If the ray was eating well and not chewed up too badly, I would say that you have a decent chance and the ray being okay.

Good luck.
