This is a very rarely seen ray in the trade for sure!
It's been several years that I've been after collectors to access any of the Rio Tigre rays. I am told that access to the river for collection is very difficult and that for only a short time each year are water levels sufficiently low to collect the rays. In the previous two years, these water levels were not achieved, so no Rio Tigre rays for me to import.
I've had a couple pair in my own possession that I received as pups some years ago. The largest are now 12" maximum. What little literature that is available via research on this species provides maximum size of 8". This is really not a well known species in the trade. Fisherman who've collected in this river over the years state that 30 cm (12") is the very largest they've ever seen them.

Because the original collection source of this species is given as a river in Brazil, I chose to use the 'cf.' designation; Potamotrygon cf. ocellata. Basically this denotes that the species under consideration is very similar to a known species, but the possibility still exists that it may be another species. If you were to initiate a 'google image' search for this fish, you'll find this same fish pictured as I've imported from Peru.

Common names for the fish include 'red spotted river ray', 'kidney spotted river ray', and locally they call them 'aparicio ray'.

In my experience, this species is very motoro-like. They are very good eaters and learn to accept all foods (including pellets) very quickly and readily take food from my hands at feeding time.
In addition to the similar spotting pattern (to motoro) which ocellata exhibit, I have no qualms referring to them as 'mini-motoro' for these reasons.
Nearly all individuals exhibit a unique 'smearing of spots' or wavy lines pattern.

All things considered, what we have here is a rarely seen, very attractive, hardy, easily fed/cared for fresh water ray that can remain well-kept in a 75 gallon tank or so for life.
Now that's something to celebrate!

Here's a look at some of the fish in my tanks.

I've got a very small quantity of 5" sized @ 200 each.
Most are 6-7" size @ 250 each.
I received a few large mature adults of 8-9" size @ 300 each.

As for doradid cats, I will include some pics below.
Some species remain smaller (5-7" for Rhinodoras, Acanthodoras, Amblydoras), while there are also the big bruisers like Megalodoras and Pterodoras.
I also have some large sized Callicthys 'red finned armoured cats' at this time as well as the above mentioned Ageneiosus marmoratus 'marbled hammerhead cats' of 9-10" grande size.

The current stock of hammerhead cats are even larger than those in above photo - I just haven't gotten pictures of them yet.

Some other highlights from current inventory include beefy 2.5" clown loaches @ 12.50 plus very limited quantities of big clowns too. The 5-5.5" are @ 100 each and 6-7" are @ 125 each.
These are undeniably some of the most playful, entertaining, and colorful fresh water fish for a larger community tank.

Also have very handsome 4-4.5" frontosa @ 50 each, what may be the largest growing cichlid; the Tanganyikan 'emperor cichlid' - Boulengerochromis microlepis of 2.5-3" @ 15 each, great sized and super colored Ecuador 'green terror-gold suam' of 4-4.5" @ 35 each, hifin rainbow wolf fish of 2.5-3" @ 28, and well over 100 other 'not your average' species - all in stock and immediately available for shipping!

Current stock posted below for review.
