Alright, amazing what trying to distract yourself from other life changing concerns will accomplish. Nearly 2AM here now, work is going to suck ASS tomorrow, but feckit, it's my birthday :D. Everyone at work will expect me to roll in hung over tomorrow anyways.

It's so hard to convey the scale of this thing with photos, for some reason the shape or the colors or something make it look like a 2-300gal setup, so I decided to set the camera timer and get in for reference.

Another note... a couple of the engineers I work with pointed out that a lot of stress will be placed on the corner joint in the wood framing where the two windows meet. The fact that the silicone joining the glass panes is flexible, whereas the wood and fiberglass is not so flexible, will mean that a great deal of the load of that corner will be on the two small (4") joints. To mitigate this I've been looking for some 4" aluminum angle to shore up that joint. Should look cool too if I mill it all up nicely and have it anodized black.

looks great and its obvious lots of time and effort have been put into the quality of this build.
haha, i think it looks bigger without you. i still think it looks like a 300 gal :p
i'm gonna start my own tank very similair to this at the end of this term once summer starts. mine will only be about 400 gals though.
can't wait to see this thing finished!

Thanks, lol, next time I'll have to get further back in the tank so it doesn't look like I'm filling it up :p

That is a very nice idea. At first I thought there would be structural problems with the corner, but I didn't say anything as I was assuming you knew allready, you do now anyway.

That filter design is very nice too. I like the false back/side look. Keep up the great work .
