well thank you i thought would be average 2 feets in captive didnt know in captive or not they would grow average the same :D
and im not gonna question the article made but could it be a typo about the length?
i quoted the article made below and the author did great job and very good effort

"South American lungfish typically attain lengths of about 36” in the wild, but individuals have been reported to be as long as 4’. This lungfish is believed to have a maximum life span of about eight years."

then

" Average Captive Max Size:
36” – 48” "

dang i dont think i can take care of it any longer for it to be comfy if mine reached over 3 feet..might have to donate or trade with LFS

Actually as long as the tank is big enough for the to stretch out they should be fine. Mine at ~3' curls into a ball at the right of my tank. Mine is a very slow clumsy eater. Got picked on a lot in his old home so I got him/her for $20. The main issue is them being picked on and not getting enough food. Really a whole lot of fun to watch.
