This tanks actually 6 months old. The problem stems from my tap water being super soft. Like close to 0. This causes the ph to drop drastically in a short period of time and therefore the cycle to basically stop. I had a good balance before I added the oscars using crushed coral. Once I added them I thought I compensated, but obviously not enough.Sorry man. Obviously something is wrong with the bacteria cycle. Have you tried picking up some bottles from the store that may help this process ie Seachem's Stability?
Edit: just noticed one of your posts stating it's a new tank.. if you have a test kit, you can post up a help thread on the subforum with the results and I'm sure someone would be able to help you out.
Oh dam... Sr for your loss . How much did it cost you if you dont mind me asking?..Purchased this guy n went to pick him up an hour away. I had my portable airpump hooked up n everything but wen i got home to check him out he was belly up! RIP Tiger Scat! :'(

Is that african tiger scat? The unicorn fish. Or a diff species of scat that has stripes like those african ones?
