Oscar has said they'd step aside the cinco de mayo date for the pac/may fight but regardless it didn't get done (the cotto/conelo fight)

cotto may have been waiting to see if pac/may was gonna happen because he knows a rematch with mayweather would be bigger money.

what this cancellation does for mayweather is that it gives him an option to not fight pac and rematch cotto.

as of now it's been quiet with hbo/showtime meetings so they've not yet come to terms as we know.

I forget his last name atm but, Dan, an hbo guy tweeted that mayweather/cotto 2 is imminent. many fans never believed the may/pac fight was ever gonna happen anyways and believe mayweather will choose to fight cotto instead.

but there is also people saying that they may announce the may/pac fight during superbowl.

so there's that. it's all hearsay until we get the officials

i need to correct myself. i keep saying alverez's first name is canelo. his name is saul alverez.

and yes krich, dan Rafael. who is not an hbo guy like i stated, he's from espn

anyways, I don't know man, mayweather fighting cotto would mean that if he beats cotto again, that would mean a title in a sixth different weight class. it would also make him a simultaneous holder of 3 world titles in 3 different weight classes. something that hasn't happened since 1938 I read.

so some are saying mayweather's gonna use that as an excuse and say he's looking out for his legacy and making history. who knows, all this talk is just giving me flashbacks of previous failed attempts of the fight the world wants

Oscar now is saying alverez is gonna fight may 2nd now unless may/pac happens. if mayweather rematches cotto that same night they'll go head to head. everyone should boycott a may/cotto 2 and watch alverez's fight.

what would be awesome is that if mayweather chooses cotto, pac should fight saul.

but that won't happen. pac has said he'd fight saul at 150, but saul had a hard cut to make 152 to fight Floyd and he said he'd never drop that low again. his last two fights were at 155

I gotta be honest, if I'm mayweather, I take the cotto fight and stall on pacquiao to maximize my earning potentials by working in both fights. He only wants to do 2-3 fights anyways. Cotto and two with pac. Story book ending to my career

I think he wants to retire after finishing that contract. if he fights cotto and wins, then loses to pacman that would suck for him, lol.
