Sorry I don't understand by "gap"? The clamps just hold the glass square (90 degrees)

What gap? You talking about joint gap? This is something I have always been curious about. I would think to much silicone and it would flex to much. I know Miracles clamps all there tanks from front o back and alot of the tanks I have torn apart you can barley fit a razor

Some places consider it a "higher quality" tank from what I understand but that could be wrong.

i have been reading up on building glass tanks and have heard about it. I guess custom tank makers use a small 1/16" dab of dried silicone to keep the gap while they build it. I am waiting for a quote on glass to build a 7x3x2 .5" tank.

Oh I understand. No I just sit the sides right on the bottom. No need for gap or spacer with 5/8 6x2

Update! I am finally done with silicone. Now just need to paint back pane and stand, push into place and hook up sump.
