Acrylic would be good, but woulndt it have trouble binding with the silicone? May have to separate into 2 tanks :/Most doors openings are 29.5" with the hinges removed.

To build the tank, as in put the sides and braces together, is what I meant about the silicone not working well... But "2 tanks" not being one tank split into two, but two separate tanks for it to fit in my apartment period. The place is small and I don't think Theres one solid 7ft piece of wall. Thinking creatively, I may do a rounded coffee table piece or bar piece for one and a standard wall piece for the other. I'd hate to separate them into 2 separate tanks if I can help it at all.It is solvent welded, with acrylic glue.
If you want to divide it into 2 compartments. A snug fitting piece, can be installed with removable pins in the top.
Acrylic is a lot more expensive than glass.
But building a 300 gallon tank with ?3/4" thick glass. Requires a hoist. Or 3 grown adults.
40 something different panels? Sounds like a tad much. How do you weld them together?you are going to have a biotch of a time moving plate glass up to the second story. I'd suggest acrylic as well...open all your windows, get some fans running and just weld on 40 some 1/2-3/4 inch acrylic panels together.
No no lol...Weld-on 40. Its a product you use to weld acrylic panels together. You'd only need 6 panels to make a tank.40 something different panels? Sounds like a tad much. How do you weld them together?
Ohh Lol ok. Where do I find it? And do I need a welding rig?No no lol...Weld-on 40. Its a product you use to weld acrylic panels together. You'd only need 6 panels to make a tank.
I have a 85 pound steel frame, and two 75 gallon tanks stacked 4" apart. any hardware store generally. The term weld here is...similar but not quite the same as what you are thinking. Weld-on 40 chemically welds acrylic panels together, all you have to do is mix it up and bead it on the area the two panels will meet and clamp them together. After that you can tip the tank up and pour more into the corner of the panels creating a much stronger bond.Ohh Lol ok. Where do I find it? And do I need a welding rig?
