Sometimes when a Guniean Endli will look the same or similar is all that supports. Things get mixed I'm sure from time to time. Or simply they're a 'brutha from the same mutha'. I say that 'genetically' speaking.
Then how can they be different fish ?

* Faranah for me. A distinct feature is a much flatter head.

* Dabola 'Tikinsso River' distinct feature is a heavier set skull. Thick and mean looking

Patterns and color tones can be similar for both.

I have a great idea as a new tank warming gift you buy me 3 or 4 of each.

Yeah i though the faranah had a flatter head too but all im saying i cant say all faranah have flatter heads based off my two fish. I never said that their are no differences i just think they are too minute to say x will always have x

I can pick the fish up at BWI btw

Tbh i would agree with you more about head shapes vs banding. Banding unless bv is pointless

We both agree base pattern is meaningless

Yes they are. Many hobbyist like to know where these Zonatus are caught. I would. It's what makes it fun. It's same specie, yes. Example : 'Rio xaya' Zonatus, 'Rio baafetsfg' Zonatus
They can look slightly different or the same. Its an important element to know where a fish is caught.
But it doesnt mean all zonatus caught from rio kissmybutayo are going to look the same. Yes fun to know where they are caught but you cannot say a zonatus with less blue is from here and a zonatus with more blue is from there....just doesnt work that way.

Some species do have these defining traits like la cieba but this is more than just banding

It's a shame that ornates, weeksii, congicus (not amymore), and many other wild caughts don't have a known catch locale. That would make it fun. It doesn't mean that it will look any different. Just as how we do it for cichlids and plecos.

You know this statememt supports what Hao Hao and i are saying right ?
Im not saying its the same fish, what im saying is maybe the fish that we get are getting mislabel somewhere, cause some have the same characteristics but different catch location.
