Yeah, and if it does get you down, then rehome a fish. It's sadly sometimes a necessary part of the hobby so that our tanks are relaxing to us and not stressful.

There are very few people on this site who haven't rehomed at least one fish due to aggression. It sucks but it can be a real relief after the fact.

I still think it's worth waiting out a bit with your crew.

Keep us updated!
I completely agree

This is 100% fact. I know we get attached to our fish and absolutely hate rehoming a favirote but once they are gone is such a relief. Ive rehomed allot of fish some were stunners or with us for yrs. But in the end its always whats better for both the aggressive one and the ine getting bullied...plus us, its soo much less stressful without aggression

I agree. As long as it doesnt look like it's over then yes get rid of it. I look at my employees like that to.....yup here on time every time, knows the job, but sucks to be around, you think man how do I get someone with the knowledge and be on time never miss a day? But the attitude just sucks! I can't take it your gone. Low and behold someone you didn't expect steps up and things are happy again....yeaaaa. that's the end of my story;)

I really appreciate the advice and stories. I will continue to wait it out. Totally forgot that social roles/top poly can change with each new poly added to the tank. Their social system and pile dominance behaviors are so fun to watch! So far there's not any new wounds or major nipped fins.Lately it's just Moke v. moke skirmishes with Soba chasing her to the left corner of the tank. She mainly hangs out their most of the day. Pinky has been joining too. Man I really want to learn more about their social dynamics.

Maybe Soba wants to be HMIC (head moke in charge). Ironically, Macaroni and Soba relocated their HQ from the driftwood(left side of the tank) to the abundance of plants on the right side of the tank. Their new spot is the Moke's old spot( pre-Mac/Soba). Maybe a territorial thing? POLY TURF WARS!

If it's just chasing at this point and that's not stressing you out to watch I think it will settle down.

I find it FASCINATING that Soba and Mac hang out together. twentyleagues twentyleagues told me the same about my fish in his tank, at least initially. Which means that they recognize each other even when added to a mix of a bunch of other polys. Isn't that interesting?

It is. And I have always thought we don' give animals enough credit as for thought processes especially fish, reptiles, amphibians, bugs. I have always thought more goes on in their heads. I think "we" dismiss their thought processes because in most ways it's so different then ours, for the most part anyway. I guess at the same time some people try to put our thought processes on them and that's not right either. Like I said there's more then we give credit for.

Awesome! Everyone looks great and happy! Tank looks good. I'm glad everything is working out fish side for you. Hope finals, work and lolz your .25 life crisis work out too. I'm waiting to be able to have my midlife crisis, but I don't think my wife is gonna let me. So I just refuse to grow up:D.
