Panda Uaru dinner

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Awesome. How big are they and how long have you had them?

Somehow I missed this post, my apologies. They are actually two different groups that were purchased about five months apart. The first group came in late 2016 and I think the others in early 2017. They range anywhere from 5 - 10", with a little runt being the smallest.

Those flowerpots have 10" diameter openings to give you an idea.

No, I make 200 gallons of RODI water each week for them. They're my most labor-intensive and expensive fish, for sure. It added about $30 a month to my water bill, plus the replacement cartridges for the RO unit every few months. I figured if I was going to do it again, I'd do it right.

You are doing great with them so RODI unit well worth it.

I'm still seeing a bit of HITH starting, unfortunately. I'm going to try and reduce the lighting because it may be due to stress, and also add some vitamins just in case they aren't getting enough.

I still don't know what the secret is there. Even the European hobbyists who keep and breed them post pictures of adult fish with fairly nasty looking HITH above the eyes and on the face. There's something we're missing and I'm not sure what it is.

Stunning fish.
I hope you find a way to control the hith as they are truly beautiful.

So far they’re great. Lately they’ve been super aggressive. They’ve eaten a chocolate pleco and almost all of my tetras. I’m not sure what’s changed.
