Are you saying you lost your first pair of Suriname piraibas?? Mine has been a moody feeder but still around. It's 3' now.

How big are your pair of Peru piraibas? I think I saw one in this video at roughly 2'. No? Mine have been in an unfavorable community (boisterous and competitive) for a year and are still around 1.5'.

What does your luteus eat?? Give me some good details on this one, please.
Yes I lost both my Suriname Piraibas.. a 'catfish bug' that targeted most of the wild caught SA cats went thru my systems and I lost most of my cats. I think it originated from my Boesemani Rays. The only surviving Piraiba is the one from Peru, it is currently 33-34 inches.

The new Piraiba (Darker Suriname) is 2ft.. if you look closely, the one from Peru (@34 sec.) swims behind the darker Suriname cat who is already 2ft. My tiles are a great way to measure the fish as they are 2ft x 1ft. Some of the Luteus I own have been with me for over 4 years. They seem to eat everything I throw at them and are pretty hardy.

Sorry to hear that. It must have been gut wrenching.

So, the Peru piraiba is the one swimming around in your video and the Suriname one is just sitting on the bottom, right? I for some reason thought you meant it the other way around.

I lost my luteus after 6 months of trying to get it to feed.
