I did a lot of work in South Louisiana and they liked them. They hunted them with weasel type things...mink, genet something. Nutria are pretty nasty rodents when cornered. I think they give you money for the tails

Used to be a bounty, not sure if it's still valid.
You could probably use a mink or fisher to Rat them from their burrows
