Hello; While it is early in the process this idea seems good on first blush. This would sorta expand the deterent aspect to schools where no teachers were willing nor able to qualify. That way the potential shooter would not know which schools are the easier targets. I do see a potential issue when first responders show up at a school with an active shooter. The local and state police likely need to know and be familiar with who the armed teachers might be. Maybe each system will have to come up with a signal the teachers use. Maybe an arm band or specific vest the armed teacher can wear. Would have to be kept secret.
I do not know if this technology is still in the works but a while back there were electronic devices that only allowed certain people to use a weapon. The early tech was to be a ring a person wore. If someone else got the weapon who did not have the ring it would not fire.
Hello; I have a number of stories where incidents with troubled students were taken care of in house. So many times the teachers and other students had to put up with bad behavior over and over because those running the system did not or could not deal with the behavior effectively. Since I can go on and on about this it is best I do not. Will take too long.
