Oh no chance of that. He’s lying at rest in the pet cemetery.

He got caught inside of an ornament and could not get out, and he was half consumed by his tank mates overnight.

When you keep cichlids you have to come to terms with the fact that they want to fight each other.

This is why I am so amazed that little Butterfish and huge Felix are getting along well.

When I pulled Little Butterfish from the big African tank, his tail was chewed to a nub. After a few weeks with Felix he has recovered his fins nicely.

Aside from breeding mollies and guppies and assorted cichlids, this is the only other fish I have bred in 45 years: Zed the Betta.

At one point he had about 300 siblings but somehow he is the only one to survive past the baby fry stage. My other betta breeding experiments were all failures.

Sunflower is one of the rescue cichlids and we have had him for a couple years now.

Sunflower is a common yellow lab. And well fed too. Look at that fat little belly!

He is clearly one of the alpha fish in the 125.
