Maybe for a while but for longterm most would say no. You’ll need a 6 footer.

I agree with the above, maybe if they are under 5" for the male, but over that, a larger tank.
Mine spawned a number of times without incident, but I never used anything smaller than a 6 ft tank.for the pair .
