Nice setup. That's a lot of filter media! Just make sure you keep it clean.
As far as floss sheets, I have started to bleach mine. I use bleach solution , rinse and let them dry. I rotate them (extra sheets). I can always pop in a new one if needed between cleaning. I also have a setup where filter socks are last . I do the same thing with the socks.
Seems easier than repeated rinsing every week when I clean the tank.
nice! i’ll try that - just soak it over night in bleach bucket?

i need to trial foam vs this corse plastic pond filter pad -

thanks for feedback!

I only soak the stuff for 30 minutes if that. Then rinse and let dry. I treat it with some Safe before I put in the tank.

I like using a medium foam under a filter pad. I dont like the coarse foam. Lately I have been cleaning the foam pads more often. Warm water treated with Safe. I am a firm believer that dirty filters have a big impact to the health of the tank.

How much water are you dripping i have mine at 5-6 gph and have not experienced that and I am on a well my water is cold lol I also have 1900 watts of heaters but thats only about 3 watts per gallon and I keep mine at 80 degrees. The ink bird
wireless heater control works very well. I like being able to check and change my temp from anywhere and it was only like $30. I only have half the heaters on that the other 2 are just set to 85. Also what heater is that?

i’ve got 1600watts of finnex heaters in the tank -

it was more the condensation on the 1/4” poly line dripping on my electronics and drywall-

was running .4gallons per minute for 12 hours a day or 300g ish - looks like .25 gpm now is the sweet spot for the amazon purchased chinese water tank -

oh, ordered one of the nitrate reactors like you suggested - pump came for it today- tom aqua lifter or something -

Dam thats a lot of water 300 gallons I thought my 150 a day was a lot lol. I love my reactor. It is a little expensive but the vx-1 ecotech Peristaltick Pump is the way to go if you find you have to mess around with it to much that is what I use just to make the adjustments easier definitely dont need it though. I hope you are as happy as I am with it. Go pick up some baking soda as you will need it to keep the KH up the nitrogen cycle depletes it and when you change it back to the gas it takes more so you are double dipping. I bought a 50lb bag for like $50 delivered to my house

got some stuff done today

T Tj203 - instructions on aquamaxx say 2-3 drips a second - having trouble achieving that with this tom aqua lifter - (3.5gpm) got the plastic needle valve cranked down a have a slow dribble

also says to test for nitrite - wondering if this is only for new systems?

cheers!

I hate that vavle i had to use Pliers to crank it down then I ordered one of these valves on Amazon got a whole kit with hose and fitting for like $10 see picture. I am using a 800 gph pump now to run both as the vx_1 are out for service. You don't need to test for at least 2 weeks if not 4 to 6. The slower the better. Also I started with it like you and then I found out it did not drop the GH that much so I took out most of the rocks and put more sulfur. I had to dose Sodium bicarbonate anyway but my GH never changed no mater how much ARM I put in the reactors, I also have a lot of dry rock so that helps. I bought this Milwaukee controller the does ORP and PH MC125. This way you can tell what's going on inside the reactor I leave the PH probe in my sump And when I see it get below 8 I throw a big spoonful of sodium bicarbonate in. The reactors already have the port for the probe. Once again not needed but makes your life one hell of a lot easier this is 1 thing I would definitely advise on getting. Once it starts it takes off quick if u keep on top of it and my bio load is so great that I just have them running at full open and It dose not get to zero so I never need to adjust them and about every 8 -12 weeks I turn my drip system on for about 1 1/2 to 2 days. I just check the nitrates and when it gets to about 20 ppm I turn it on and when it gets to about 5ppm I turn it off.
